All Kids

Welcome to Tong Primary School!

This website is intended to keep parents, pupils and visitors informed of what is happening in Tong School and of what we are trying to achieve.

Education is presently undergoing great change. Curriculum for Excellence is one of the most ambitious programmes of educational change ever undertaken in Scotland. The aim is to raise standards of learning and teaching for all 3 to 18 year olds.

We are striving to equip children with knowledge and skills relevant to growing, living and working in the contemporary world. The new curriculum aims to ensure pupils enjoy greater choice and further opportunity to realise their individual talents. At present, Nursery and School Staff are engaging with the outcomes in the Curriculum for Excellence.

The Curriculum is not just about subjects taught, but about learning opportunities and experiences. Our challenge is to help each child become a successful learner, confident individual, responsible citizen and an effective contributor.

In a world of educational change partnership with parents is vital. We are pleased to say that Tong Primary School enjoys the active support of parents and the community. The Parent Council forms a particular link between parents and the school. Parents will always be welcome in the school. If at any time you wish to discuss any matters concerning your child’s education or the school in general, please do not hesitate to contact me.

The school is a warm and welcoming environment and one which the children and staff feel delighted to be a part of, and which the community at large, can be proud to have in their midst.

As a whole school we hope all the visitors to our website find it useful, entertaining and interesting.
